Amazing hike in the Misty Forest all the way to the antennas on the top of the mountain. On a windy Levante day there is a dense cloud that stays over the mountain and it turns into a magic world when doing the hike. There is fog all over but the trees stop it and allow you to see the way. It is very humid and the vegetation is from another world. It is truly a great experience.
The dune of Punta Paloma is famous in Tarifa and offers with beautiful views where on a windy day you will be able to see hundreds of kites and windsurfers in the bay of Valdevaqueros, with Tarifa and Morocco in the back.
It's a great place to go with kids and you can take advantage of eating at the restaurant El Mirlo, at the very end of the road of the dune. The restaurant is located in an old military base but is now open to everyone. Fish is great!
Gibraltar is a great alternative to escape from the strong winds of Levante because there the wind isn't as strong as in Tarifa, and also for kids to see monkeys with views over the Bay of Algeciras and Morocco in the back. Gibraltar is a Brittish territory and you will need your passport or Spanish ID to pass the border.
It is a great option to escape and spend a day there.
Waterpark located only 30 minutes away from Tarifa, being a great option for kids but also if you wish to escape a strong windy day in Tarifa.
If you would like to learn how to surf, this school is a great option. Rodri the owner is a friendly guy and he is always surrounded by children learning how to surf or skateboard.
