The first day will be dedicated to getting situated, understanding the history of Tarifa and witnessing one of the most famous sunsets in Spain.<\/p>\n
Our route begins by crossing the emblematic Puerta de Jerez<\/b>, the medieval entrance to the old town. Get ready to get lost (it's the best part) in a labyrinth of narrow white streets, Andalusian courtyards full of flowers and small craft and fashion stores. boho-chic<\/i>.<\/p>\n
Don't miss out:<\/b><\/p>\n After lunch (we recommend tapas in the center), we will walk to the port.<\/p>\n You will see a stone path that goes into the sea: it is the Pigeon Island Causeway<\/b>. This is the exact geographical point that divides the Mediterranean Sea (calmer, on your left) from the Atlantic Ocean (rougher, on your right).<\/p>\n Although the island itself (a former military zone) is not always open to the public, the walk is a must. Feeling the wind and seeing the two seas collide is a unique sensation.<\/p>\n The sunset in Tarifa is sacred. You have two options:<\/p>\n The old town, which is quiet during the day, is transformed at night. There is an incredible gastronomic offer, from traditional tapas bars where you can eat the best red tuna to Moroccan restaurants or high quality pizzerias.<\/p>\n \u27a1\ufe0f Your rest is key: <\/b>After a first day wandering the streets and beaches, you'll want to collapse in a comfortable place. We will go to the legendary beaches and explore the wildest nature of the Natural Park of the Strait.<\/p>\n Even if you don't go kitesurfing or windsurfing, you have to see it. Take the car and head for the Valdevaqueros Beach<\/b> or the Los Lances beach (north zone)<\/b>.<\/p>\n The sky is literally filled with hundreds of colorful kites. It is a hypnotic visual spectacle. If you dare, this is the best place in the world to give a \u201cbaptism\u201d (a first lesson) of kitesurfing. If not, just enjoy the atmosphere in one of its famous beach bars (such as Tumbao).<\/p>\n Following the same road, you will arrive at Pigeon Point<\/b>. A gigantic white sand dune awaits you there.<\/p>\n Don't be lazy: climb it! The effort has a double reward: incredible views of the coast and a swim in a pristine beach with crystal clear waters at your feet.<\/p>\n On the way back to Tarifa, make an obligatory stop at the Viewpoint of the Strait<\/b>. On a clear day (which most days are), you will see the coast of Morocco so close that you can almost touch it. Mount Jebel Musa (the \u201cDead Woman\u201d) will be waving at you from the other continent.<\/p>\n Today we propose a more relaxed plan. Take advantage of the kitchen of your apartment to prepare a light dinner with local products bought at the Mercado de Abastos, or go out for dinner in the most modern area of Tarifa, outside the wall.<\/p>\n On your last day, we offer you two very different but equally spectacular plans. Choose according to your tastes.<\/p>\n Only 20 minutes away by car, in the neighboring Bologna beach<\/b>, the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia<\/b>.<\/p>\n These are not just any ruins. It is a complete Roman factory-city, perfectly preserved, right on the sand of the beach! It is one of the most important sites in Spain.
